👩‍💻 Kicking off something new!

Hey subscriber,

I'm kicking off something new here. Having run a number of newsletters over the years, and having moved around in my career quite a lot (!), I'm starting to gain a better understanding about what I do and what value I bring to the world.

This (new) newsletter is a big part of that. I want to write, share and create within design, product and the growing influence of artificial intelligence. I've been really excited about using tools like ChatGPT in my work, and I can start to see the impact AI will have on product strategists, designers, researchers and more.

But I'm also keen on hearing other people's experiences. How they've solved big challenges, how they've grown teams and how the way in which they operate and deliver value to the business is changing.

How does this manifest here? Well, I'd like to organise some talks, demos and even start creating some short training courses. Coaching and gathering inspiration is my way of giving back to this community, who has been so kind and supportive over the past 20 or so years.

So, thank you for subscribing. I really hope I can offer you something that you can't get anywhere else as I start contributing to this community in a way only I can!

Events I'm attending

There's a number of decent events in London coming up over the next few weeks. I'll be there - will I see you too?

AI x Design Summit, 8th November, London, UK

Product Unleashed London, 21st November, London, UK

What I'm reading: The Growth Equation

Now it's out, I've started reading Andy Budd's new book 'The Growth Equation.' I feel a similar excitement to when I read Sprint back in 2017! Hoping to pin Andy down for a chat about it once I've made my way through!

Hey there, I use ChatGPT every day. I’m practically begging Figma to roll out AI to our team. And if something has those magic letters “A” and “I,” I’m already signed up. But this isn’t about jumping on a trend. It’s rooted in a philosophy I’ve always believed: computers exist to handle the heavy lifting, freeing us to focus on what really matters—thinking, creating, and making meaningful impact. Last night, I was revisiting my Product Design Sprint template and migrating it into FigJam. One...

Hey subscriber, Last Friday, I attended the AI x Design Summit without any expectations—just a curious mindset and a bit of a break from my recent focus on business growth. Over the past couple of years, I’ve prioritised business growth over stepping back to reconnect with the wider design and tech community. I used to ask, “Will this help grow the business?” and if the answer was “no,” I’d skip it. Now, as I look toward new horizons, getting back into the community feels like a good way to...
